Up with the down
Moving is easy in our super warm Ranua down puffer because it's super light, too. The waterproof shell material helps ensure kids can keep on skiing, come snow or hail.
Reima ski jackets are built kid-first, for the way kids actually ski and ride - more falls, more sitting in snow, more runs without a break:
-
100% waterproof, windproof ReimaTec shell - breathable, so kids don't get stuffy between runs
-
Snow locks seal the hem - powder stays out through falls and chairlift seats
-
Elastic cuffs seal the wrists - no snow up the sleeve after a hard landing
-
Lightweight insulation - warmth without bulk that restricts turns
-
Cut for movement - nothing pulling when a child reaches, turns or gets back up
-
Adjustable, helmet-compatible hood - fits over a helmet, protects when it's off
-
Zip pockets - goggles, snacks and a lift pass stay where they were put
-
Reinforced against tears from edges, lifts and hard landings - built to last more than one season
-
Safe, non-toxic materials, with no added PFAS in any layer
-
Unisex ski and snowboard jackets in sizes 2T through 14Y
Skiing is stop-and-go: hard effort on the run, sitting still on the lift. A ReimaTec ski jacket handles both - the 100% waterproof, windproof shell keeps snow and cold mountain air out, while the breathable fabric lets sweat escape so kids stay dry from the inside, too. Warm on the lift, comfortable on the run.
Kids fall, sit and roll in snow more than any adult - that's what separates a kids' snowboard jacket from regular winter wear. Snow locks close the gap at the hem, and elastic cuffs seal the wrists, so powder can't work its way in no matter how the day goes.
A jacket that restricts movement ruins a ski day faster than cold does. Reima ski jackets use lightweight insulation for warmth without stiffness - and the Ranua down jacket shows how far that goes: rated to -30°C (-20°F), and light enough to forget it's on.
Both are warm and waterproof. What separates them is the slope:

A complete kids' ski outfit pairs the jacket with snow pants and bibs, gloves, and a thin toque for under the helmet.
Our ski and snowboard jackets run 2T through 14Y. Every jacket has 5-8 cm (2-3 inches) of room to grow, so take your child's current size and go up only if they're between two - and leave space for a base layer and a fleece underneath without bunching at the shoulders. Height ranges for every size are on the size charts.
Layer for the mountain: a wool or synthetic base layer against the skin, which stays warm even when it is damp, and a fleece midlayer for cold days. On warm spring afternoons, drop the fleece and let the shell do the work.
Every Reima ski jacket is made from safe, non-toxic materials with no added PFAS - the forever chemicals that don't break down in the environment.
It's also built to last. Reinforced against tears from edges, lifts and hard landings, with room to grow built in, one jacket covers several seasons on the mountain and can be handed down to a younger sibling - fewer jackets bought, less waste.
Reima has made outdoor gear for one group of people since 1944: kids. Every ski jacket is cut for how children actually move and tested in real Finnish winters - not scaled down from an adult pattern. In 2026, USA Today named Reima one of the Brands Most Trusted By Parents.
Yes - 100% waterproof ReimaTec construction with breathable fabric, so snow and sleet stay out while sweat escapes. Kids stay dry from both directions through a full day on the hill.
Not in the protection - both need waterproofing, snow locks and insulation. Snowboarders sit in snow more, so sealed hems and durable fabric matter even more. Every Reima ski jacket is built for both sports.
Both. Every Reima ski jacket is cut the same way for any child, in sizes 2T through 14Y - the range has no separate boys' or girls' styles.
For a few runs on a mild day, yes. For full ski days, a ski jacket's snow locks, helmet-compatible hood and breathable shell keep kids drier and on the slopes longer.
